Installation of cork tiles over heavily textured walls is not advised. Depending on the contact adhesive you use, cork tiles may be glued to lightly textured walls, we highly recommend testing a small area first to ensure flawless application and a secure hold.

Although our cork tiles can handle a sprinkle or two, they’d rather not be placed in high humidity or direct water exposure. For their comfort zone, think cozy living rooms, bedrooms, home offices, or any dry indoor spots they'll thrive in!

Acclimatization of CorkWall tiles is recommended before installation. As a natural material sensitive to environmental changes, such as temperature and humidity, cork may expand or contract. To ensure optimal installation and prevent issues like warping or damage, we advise unpacking and placing the tiles in your room for 72 hours before installing them.

Can I use cork tiles outdoors?

Even though cork loves its natural vibe, it's not an outdoorsy type – direct sunlight and moisture aren't its jam. Stick to using it indoors where it can thrive without any weather worries.

While we haven't conducted a full assessment to quantify the Sound Transmission Coefficient (STC) for OakViva CorkWall tiles, we approach this aspect with care to ensure realistic expectations.

How effective are OakViva CorkWall tiles at dampening and absorbing sound?

Depending on the surface area applied, your OakViva cork tiles will have a noticeable effect on the acoustics of your space.  

Even a small application of acoustic cork can yield remarkable results; studies have shown that just 3/32” (three millimeters) of cork can effectively block up to 10 decibels of sound, highlighting its impressive efficiency. Cork excels on walls, absorbing approximately 40% of sound in the frequency range of human speech. Cork wall coverings diminish vibration and sound transfer by absorbing noise rather than reflecting it, unlike hard surfaces. 

Currently, we don't have any specific sound-transmission (STC) data available, so we want to be transparent and mindful not to over-promise in this area.

How do I return a product?

For orders up to $1,000: if for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, items must be returned within 14 days after receiving your order. Items must be returned in the same condition in which they were received, be unworn/unused, have any tags still attached, and include all the original packaging. Buyers are responsible for return postage costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

For orders valued between $1,000 and $3,000, returns within 14 days are subject to a 15% restocking fee along with return shipping costs. Regrettably, we do not accept returns for orders exceeding $3,000. To reduce our environmental impact, we custom fabricate tiles for each order instead of maintaining excess inventory. As a result, returns for large orders are limited.
